Luxembourg Gardens
Gardens by the Senate building. You cannot sit in the grass but they provide many chairs and benches.
Train to Paris
My overnight train to Paris had 6 beds, I was on one of the top bunks. One of the ladies on the bottom bunk had a cute yorkie with her. There were also some great views at sunset!
Smells and Tastes
Many stores specialized in soaps, perfumes, and potpourri. The pic with all the color blocks...those are all soaps!! There was also a humorous trend in gelato shops to put an object reflecting each flavor on top of the gelato.
High Water
I was laying on the pebbles with my feet in the water reading when a very large wave broke and I was quickly soaked, but managed to rescue my book and purse from the same fate. Luckily I had a tank top and shorts on hand so I laid out my wet clothes on the stones to dry and did some sun bathing.
Chateau
There is a park at the top of a hill where an old castle once sat. From here there are amazing views of Nice's beachfront.
Catching Up
I made it to Paris this morning but I still have more photos to post from Nice. To start I will show some photos from my hostel in Nice...it had a bar and restaurant on site!

Eze Village 2
The exotic gardens had many varieties of cacti. It was also the ideal location to view the surrounding mountains and sea.

Thumb Sucking
Call me close minded, but sucking ones thumb in public after a certain age is just odd. (I know these photos are super creepster, but I just couldn't resist documenting this strange occurrence).
Villefranche
This is a lovely little beach just 10 minutes up the coast from Nice beach. It had pebbles instead of sand, but they were so smooth that walking on them didn't hurt. It was crazy your feet sank into them like quicksand.
